Diggers and Dealers is pleased to advise that Mr Rodrigo de Rato, former Managing Director of the International Monetary Fund (IMF) will present the keynote address at the 2012 Diggers and Dealers Mining Forum in Kalgoorlie on 6 August 2012. He was Managing Director of the IMF from 2004 until 2007 a period when the profile and integrity of the IMF was substantially enhanced.
Prior to his appointment to IMF, Rodrigo de Rato was Vice President of Economic Affairs and Minister of Economy for the Government of Spain between 1996 and 2004, a period of prosperity for the Spanish economy.
In his high profile roles he has been an active participant in the European Union's Economic development strategies, represented the EU at the Group of Seven Finance Ministers Meeting in Ottawa, Canada in 2002 and many other internationally relevant economic initiatives.
Rodrigo de Rato will provide a unique perspective of the international economic climate when he attends Diggers and Dealers and will compliment previous high profile and provocative key note speakers who have attended Diggers and Dealers in recent years.
